This year, given the current state of the world, I’ve been able to really up my gardening game. I’ve had a garden of some sort for the past 10 years, but I admit I’m not so great at it and have never given it the attention it deserves to be great at it. Until now…
This year my garden has been immaculate. No weeds, watered every day, fertilized, pruned, hornworms destroyed. The results are now showing with abundantly producing vegetables and flowers. I grew most things from seed in my basement with a grow light in red solo cups, because at the time of starting things, I couldn’t get my hands on seed starter pots. It was also challenging to find seeds.
I ended up ordering most of the seeds from an online shop in Texas, and when they arrived, they felt like something very precious that I should protect with my life. In previous years I had just thrown the packets of unused seeds into a junk drawer, where they fell out of the packets, and mixed in with the rest of the contents of the drawer.
I decided it was time to be a bit more organized, and I sought out a cheap and easy way to store the seeds moving forward. I stumbled upon a photo/craft supplies container that works great for storing my vegetable and garden seeds. The little individual containers are the perfect shape to fit the seed packets, and they’re clear so I can see what seed packets are inside. They’re pretty air tight, which I assume is a good thing for seeds? Regardless, if the seeds fall out of the packets, they’re still in the containers, so I don’t lose them in a junk drawer.
I found the container used in the photos on Amazon for $22, but I’m sure you could find a similar solution at a craft store. You could probably get really fancy and label all the individual containers, but for now, this is the perfect solution for storing my vegetable garden and flower seeds.
