The last home game I was looking for something easy to bring for our taco themed tailgate. My go to party snack is always taco dip, however I don’t love food that sits out unattended. I was always a germaphobe, but the pandemic made it worse. Who knows who will be interacting with that taco dip? The potential for double dipping is high.
Thus I came up with a solution, individual 7 layer dip cups! Not only will your guests love the convenience of having their own individual serving, but you can also feel good knowing that you’re being environmentally responsible. I was trying to avoid single use plastic, and I found paper soup cups with lids that would be the perfect vessel for my dip.
Here’s what you’ll need to make these delicious individual 7 layer dip cups:
25 12oz paper cups
1 can of refried beans
1 packet of taco seasoning
8 oz of sour cream
8 oz of cream cheese
1 bag of shredded lettuce
1 cup of diced tomatoes
1 bag of shredded cheese
1 jar of salsa
jalapeño for garnish
Instructions:
Start by adding a layer of refried beans to the bottom of each cup.
Mix the taco seasoning with the sour cream and cream cheese and spread over the beans.
Then add a layer of salsa.
Next, add a layer of shredded lettuce.
After that, add a layer of diced tomatoes.
Top off each cup with a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese.
Finally, add a few jalapeño slices to each cup.
The individual 7 layer dip cups were a huge hit at the tailgate. I doubled the recipe above and used all 50 cups that came with the pack from Amazon. This will be my new germ-free way to make and serve dips at parties, and if for some strange reason there are leftovers, they’re much easier to bring home. You’re welcome!
